All government school communities, whether they applied as Government School Community Organisations (GSCO) or School Parent Bodies (SPB), who receive IOSP funding must account for their grants.
GSCOs are responsible for managing their IOSP projects including providing the acquittal to the Commonwealth. GSCOs will need to arrange for a qualified accountant to complete the acquittal on-line on their behalf via the IOSP Access Point.
SPBs have their IOSP projects managed by their state government. The state government will ultimately provide the acquittal to the Commonwealth on behalf of the SPB.
SPBs are not required to acquit those funds directly to the Commonwealth.
School communities who received IOSP funding as a GSCO are responsible for arranging the acquittal of grant funds to the Commonwealth in accordance with the terms of their Funding Agreement(s).
In 2007, acquittals will be required for payments made to GSCOs relating to the 2006 program year. This may cover grants paid for projects approved in Rounds One, Two and Three under IOSP.
DEEWR will write to GSCOs via the school principal, providing details of grant funds to be acquitted in 2007. GSCOs are required to arrange for a qualified accountant to submit the IOSP acquittal online to DEEWR on their behalf. DEEWR has developed an online system known as the IOSP Access Point for this purpose.
Additional information is available at Acquittal Information for GSCOs.
DEEWR requires GSCOs in receipt of grant funds under IOSP to account for those funds. To do so they must arrange for a qualified accountant to submit an acquittal on their behalf.
If you are the accountant for a GSCO you may be required to visit the ‘IOSP Access Point’ secure website to submit acquittals online for their IOSP grant funds.
On the IOSP Access Point main page you can click on the link called IOSP Financial Acquittals which will display the acquittal web pages where you can enter the required information and submit acquittals.
Additional information is available at Acquittal Information for Accountants.
School communities which applied for IOSP funding as SPBs are not required to acquit those funds directly to the Australian Government.
If your school community was funded as a SPB, your state or territory government will provide the acquittal for your grants to DEEWR on your behalf.
The relevant state or territory authorities may contact your school with regard to the IOSP projects undertaken at the school in order to obtain the financial information necessary to permit them to complete the acquittal.
DEEWR will not normally contact SPBs directly about acquittal.
Additional information is available at Acquittal Information for SPBs.
